Everyone likes L. But watch the rest of the series, and no way did they try to get more money, and it was based on a manga and there hasn't been many series since then. Oh wait, there hasn't been any

 

I can see where you're coming from, though I personally don't think it's a detriment to the series overall

You should try Mirai Nikki. While some like it, others may not. It's basically a supernatural elimination game where people can see the future and they strive to kill each other in order to become god. You should probably save it for later, when you're ready to dedicate 20ish episodes worth of time into watching it. Also, the manga and anime follow the exact storyline and plot, so if you can't do one, you can do the other.


Death Note was pretty good, in my opinion. Not the best, but definitely good. It had a great plot, lovable characters, and decent voice acting, both English and Japanese.

 

Sounds interesting actually. I'll plonk that onto my download list.
