    yes RAM is really cheap these days! I got myself 8GB a while ago and it costed like... 120$ (80£) for 4 x 2GB. :D

    yea it is cheap in these days

    I got my 2x 2gb of RAM for £28 (£14 each) then two weeks later wanted another two but it went up £1(not bad) (£15). now it's up again for £16.

    £58 for 8GB ^^

    btw the last time I check Crucial prices, it was expensive :S

    If you got a 32 bit System I would change it to 64bit, With 32bit your only using half of ur 4gb ram what? less, maybe 1.97 GB ram.

    3.5 gb is what XP32 can allocate from what I heard. XP64 can allocate like 128 I think.. not that you need it. ;)

    Windows 7 is able to allocate 192 GB of memory... Just for those freaks who need it I guess ;)

    it's funny that OS say can support up to 192GB, but I've haven't heard of such mobo that supports up to 192Gb or has slot for it. probably it just future proof for RAM.

    AFAIK 32-bit is 4gb minus anywhere OS-accessible memory exists (caches, graphics card etc.)

    Basically the more GPU memory you have, the less RAM you will have on 32-bit.

    yea I know, servers can have loads of RAM, there are mobo design for server like this ^^.

    talking more about a home user like my OS, vista business 64bits can support up to 128 GB.
    I've havent seen any mobo that can be use as home user that can go up to 128GB.
    only 6 slots which make it up to 48GB (4GBx6)

    just saying anyway

    Might be right...
    I got 4 GB installed... and running 8800GTX with 768 MB of Ram.
    According to windows I can use 3.25 GB

    OH well, I have enough memory :)

    the more RAM u got, the more applications can be left open on ya desktop.

    sometimes I have +40 tabs open in ff, which takes about 1.2GB. when I had 3gb b4, I had to close everything before I play tf2. now I don't have to with 8GB.
